About Atlantic Accord

Atlantic Accord is a 15-year old consultancy committed to realizing superior shareholder value for business owners and senior corporate executives in M&A transactions. The firm specializes in the information industry, with an emphasis on content-driven enterprises in business-to-business markets.

Clients in the b2b universe include database and electronic information services, publishers, tradeshow organizations, and media communications companies. Non-traditional competitors, ongoing consolidation, changing business models, and the perceived or real threat of free information on the Internet are some of the many factors that drive transaction activity in this sector. Financial considerations, while important, are only part of the valuation equation. Superior value outcomes are achieved by emphasizing the strategic aspects of deals, and by effectively advocating the financial and other gains that flow from the contemplated merger. A solid understanding of the seller's and buyer's business parameters and objectives is a pre-requisite in order to translate such gains into the deal terms associated with a purchase.

The number of assignments in Atlantic Accord's portfolio is deliberately kept limited in order to ensure high quality service in every instance. Transactions typically fall in the $5 to $75 million range, and are evenly spread between the sale of privately-held businesses, and divestitures or acquisition campaigns for publicly-held multinationals. Services provided include:

Þ Mergers and Acquisitions Advice
Þ Strategy Consulting
Þ Business Audit
Þ Capital Sourcing
Þ Corporate Development Support

In each service area, the emphasis is on business and financial analysis, superior presentations, attention to detail, negotiation support, and creative deal structuring. Offering calendars are tightly managed and executed with utmost discretion.

Atlantic Accord was founded in 1986 by Arjaan Everts, a veteran in business-to-business publishing and information services transactions. He previously worked as an M&A and corporate development executive with some of the world's leading information companies, including VNU, Wolters-Kluwer and Reed-Elsevier. The firm has offices in Washington, D.C., and in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to stay near its increasingly international client base. Atlantic Accord has a dedicated management team of five professionals with extensive experience in the media industry and in deal making.
