Capital Sourcing

Occasionally we facilitate private equity financing for content or analytics-centered, early-stage companies. Funds are provided by our principals, and by independent private equity sources. Private equity sources include "intelligent angels" and strategic, corporate investors. Funding is arranged on a case by case basis and without recourse to an established fund, to allow a high level of flexibility in sourcing capital from compatible sources, and in configuring the investment contingencies and objectives.

"Intelligent angels" are investors with executive experience which is relevant to the targeted investment. Typically, our co-investors are former business owners or seasoned executives who seek investment opportunities falling within the scope of their business acumen and experience.

A second source of funding is represented by companies that are active in the information industry. Some may have established venture capital activities, others will make investments on a case by case basis. Typically, equity investments are both financial and strategic in nature. Funding is often provided as part of a broader relationship between venture and corporate sponsor, centered on distribution, co-marketing, cross-promotion, back-office services, or technology licensing.

Our firm's funding services are available to clients who have retained Atlantic as their transaction agent of record. In this capacity we are generally commissioned by the client to advise on all transactions, including industry roll-ups, product line acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures.
